Priory Adult Care is the UK’s leading independent provider of specialist adult care services. Our aim is to provide the right support in the right home for all the individuals we accommodate. With community-based residential care settings, as well as a network of supported living services, we support adults over the age of 18 with autism, dementia, learning disabilities, mental health conditions, Prader-Willi Syndrome (PWS) and behaviours that challenge. We also offer a range of residential and nursing care settings for older people with varying levels of need.

Our roles can be full or part time with a variety of shift patterns available, including weekdays and weekends.

Pay Rate: £12.00 per hour.

Day Shifts: 08:00 - 20:00 x3 shifts per week plus weekends included on a rota basis.

Your positive attitude and passion for providing high quality care and support will be your key strengths, but you'll also have a friendly, patient and positive approach to work. You should be keen to learn and show compassion to care for the people we support. 

You will provide support with day to day activities, whilst encouraging and promoting independent living. As part of our team, you’ll help people reach their potential, through both practical and emotional support, making a positive difference to their lives.

Our teams provide care and support for individuals with different conditions at Priory sites all across the UK. 

It would be ideal if you have previous experience gained in a similar role. However whilst this is valuable, we are looking for individuals who display the right values and behaviours in order to make a difference to people’s lives. You should be keen to learn and show compassion to care for the people we support. Not only is full training provided, but there are numerous career pathways available to you, including our Nurse Apprenticeship program.

Responsibilities 

  • Supporting with personal care tasks, such as washing, dressing, and eating
  • Supporting with cooking and preparation of food and drinks
  • Administering of medication (training provided)         
  • Perform housekeeping duties to include deep cleaning, dusting, vacuuming, laundry, and changing beds
  • Assistance and support to attend medical appointments, in-house activities, going out into the community
  • Attendance of daily handovers to members of the team
  • Observe, monitor, and recording physical and emotional well-being, with immediate reporting to the management team on site or via the on-call system
  • Encouragement to participate in social and recreational activities, promoting independence 

Qualifications and Skills

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a caring nature
  • Empathy, understanding and patience
  • Ability to work on your own and as part of a team
  • Ability to understand and follow policies and procedure
  • The ability to anticipate and respond to challenges
  • Competent in verbal and written English
  • A healthcare qualification is desirable, but not essential

Additional Information

Brickbridge House is located in the village of Wombourne, in Staffordshire. Our service offers residential support for seven people who are autistic or have a learning disability. The home is off a main road, in a quiet semi-rural area, with beautiful views to the front of the property. Our team are dedicated to supporting the people we care for to lead a full and varied life, ensuring their health and social wellbeing and helping them meet their dreams and aspirations.

Disclosure 

All roles will be subject to a successful disclosure at an appropriate level from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS), Access NI or Disclosure Scotland, and the cost of this will be covered by Priory.
