Priory Combs Court is looking to recruit Support Workers to join their team.  

  • Pay Rate: £13.75 per hour 
  • Full time: 37.5 hours a week, 8am - 8:30pm 

Combs Court is a residential service located in Stowmarket, Suffolk. The home supports up to 29 adult males and females who have a primary learning disability diagnosis. We are situated near to the local town, in the heart of the community. Our team are dedicated to improving the health and wellbeing of the people we support, providing them with the skills needed for them to live a healthier and happier life back in the community.

It would be ideal if you have previous experience gained in a similar role. However whilst this is valuable, we are looking for individuals who display the right values and behaviours in order to make a difference to people’s lives. You should be keen to learn and show compassion to care for the people we support.  

What you’ll be doing

 

You will be part of a compassionate team who are committed to our residents wellbeing. We take a personalised approach, using proven therapies to help people move forward with confidence and build a healthier, more fulfilling future. As a Support Worker, you will play a key part in their recovery, assisting qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of residents
 

 As a Support Worker, you will assist qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of residents.  You will provide support with day to day activities, whilst encouraging and promoting independent living. As part of our team, you’ll help people reach their potential, through both practical and emotional support, making a positive difference to their lives. 

  • Supporting with personal care tasks, such as washing, dressing, eating and personal care 
  • Performing light housekeeping tasks, such as dusting, vacuuming, and changing bed clothes 
  • Assisting with safe lifting, transferring, repositioning and movement of individuals 
  • Assistance and support to attend medical appointments 
  • Observe, monitor, and record physical and emotional well-being, and quickly report any changes to senior staff 
  • Supporting the development of important family connections and liaising with specialists, including Speech & Language Therapists and Learning Disability teams 
  • Encouraging participation in social and recreational activities that promote involvement and personal growth
