Priory Adult Care is the UK’s leading independent provider of specialist adult care services. Our aim is to provide the right support in the right home for all the individuals we accommodate. With community-based residential care settings, as well as a network of supported living services, we support adults over the age of 18 with autism, dementia, learning disabilities, mental health conditions, Prader-Willi Syndrome (PWS) and behaviours that challenge. Pay Rate: £13.10phr

Working hours 42 per week 8am till 10pm 

Your positive attitude and passion for providing high quality care and support will be your key strengths, but you'll also have a friendly, patient and positive approach to work. You should be keen to learn and show compassion to care for the people we support. 

You will provide support with day to day activities, whilst encouraging and promoting independent living. As part of our team, you’ll help people reach their potential, through both practical and emotional support, making a positive difference to their lives.

Our teams provide care and support for individuals with different conditions at Priory sites all across the UK. 

It would be ideal if you have previous experience gained in a similar role. However whilst this is valuable, we are looking for individuals who display the right values and behaviours in order to make a difference to people’s lives. Responsibilities 

  • Supervise and support the delivery of person centred support and care, ensuring that the people who use our service have any personal needs or requirements met; including personal care, participation in activities and support with daily living tasks.
  • To ensure all resident/service user documentation is updated as per policy and evolving need and maintain high standards of record keeping and ensure the key worker process is embedded in practice.
  • To undertake key working responsibility for individual service users, supporting the individual to plan goals and personal outcomes and ensure that these are comprehensively documented and reviewed.
  • Ensure all external and internal reporting is completed as per deadline and report any exceptions to the site management team.
  • To ensure that residents partake in their activities, that person centred plans in place for each individual in order that they enjoy their lives.
  • To receive and deliver handover, allocating roles/tasks within the shift, changing the plan as required and ensuring good communication is maintained throughout the shift.
  • To be observant for issues of safety, mitigate risk and escalate any concerns to the site management team.
  • Responsible for the day-to-day supervision of a team of support colleagues undertaking similar duties dealing with immediate operational issues and referring these for follow up to a more senior manager.
  • Supervises and coaches support workers in delivery and supports people who use our service in achieving their outcomes in the way that they choose

Qualifications and Skills

Essential

  • Basic numeracy skills
  • Basic literacy skills
  • Willingness to work towards an Diploma/NVQ 2 in Health and Social Care
  • Previous experience of working as a Senior Support Worker and/or leadership experience

Desirable

  • Diploma/S/NVQ3 in Health and Social Care
  • Knowledge and understanding of the needs of our residents

Leonards Croft is located in Stafford. We provide residential support for eight people who are autistic or have a learning disability, or both. The service is off a busy main road, around 15 minutes from the town centre. The team at our home are committed to providing our residents with the skills needed to live an active and fulfilled life, as independently as possible.

All roles will be subject to a successful disclosure at an appropriate level from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS), Access NI or Disclosure Scotland, and the cost of this will be covered by Priory.
