Company Description

Salary: £23,464.35, Plus 20% enhancements for nights and weekends. 

Shifts: Full time 37.5 hours a week across 7 days,  7:45am - 8:15pm and 7:45pm - 8:15am 

Car Owner/driver required due to location (SO40 4DA)

Set within beautiful, landscaped gardens, Priory Hospital Southampton’s tranquil environment offers therapeutic and recovery-focused residential treatment for those suffering from a number of mental health conditions. We can support adult patients with acute mental health needs, as well as eating disorders.

Our Healthcare Division offers a variety of services including Mental Health, Addictions, Brain Injury and Rehabilitation and Recovery treatment plans.

Job Description

You will provide support with day to day activities, whilst encouraging and promoting independent living. Our teams provide care and support for individuals with different conditions at Priory sites all across the UK. 

It would be ideal if you have previous experience gained in a similar role. However whilst this is valuable, we are looking for individuals who display the right values and behaviours in order to make a difference to people’s lives. Responsibilities:

• Support service users with in-house activities and hobbies
• Providing support to achieve every day goals including personal care tasks, such as washing, dressing, eating and toileting
• Manage some behaviours that challenge
• Assist and support to attend medical appointments
• Observe, monitor and record physical and emotional well-being, and promptly report any changes to senior staff
• Provide emotional support to individuals and their families
• Support and monitor healthcare needs, including administering medication 
• Understand communication needs and adapt your communication to each individual
• Work with other professionals, such as nurses and therapists, to ensure consistency of support

Qualifications and Skills

• Excellent interpersonal skills and a caring nature
• Empathy, understanding and patience
• Ability to work on your own and as part of a team
• Ability to understand and follow policies and procedure
• The ability to anticipate and respond to challenges
• Competent in verbal and written English
• A healthcare qualification is desirable, but not essential
