Salary: £25,815.00
Permanent: Full Time (40.25 Hours)
Shifts: 07:30am - 20:00pm / 19:30pm - 08:00am
Week 1: 4 Days across 7 (Days/Evenings & Weekends)
Week 2: 3 days across 7 (Days/Evenings & Weekends)
 

Set in attractive grounds in a rural setting, on the edge of the South Downs National Park, Priory Hospital Burgess Hill is a purpose-built building with good links to the local community. We offer acute mental health support, as well as psychiatric intensive care unit (PICU) support for adult male patients

You will provide support with day to day activities, whilst encouraging and promoting independent living. As part of our team alongside our qualified staff, you’ll help to meet the psychological and emotional needs of a diverse group of individuals, with varying degrees of either mental health or physical issues. Every day, you'll make a positive difference to their lives.


Our teams provide care and support for individuals with different conditions at Priory sites all across the UK. 
It would be ideal if you have previous experience gained in a similar role. However whilst this is valuable, we are looking for individuals who display the right values and behaviours in order to make a difference to people’s lives. You should be keen to learn and show compassion to care for the people we support. Not only is full training provided, but there are numerous career pathways available to you, including our Nurse Apprenticeship program.

Responsibilities:

  • Support our residents with in-house activities and hobbies
  • Providing support to achieve every day goals including personal care tasks.
  • Manage some behaviours that challenge
  • Observe, monitor and record physical and emotional well-being, and promptly report any changes to senior staff
  • Provide emotional support to individuals and their families
  • Support and monitor healthcare needs, including administering medication and temperature checks
  • Understand communication needs and adapt your communication to each individual
  • Work with other professionals, such as nurses and therapists, to ensure consistency of support
  • Analyse an individual’s needs and draw up a focused support plan
