Our Healthcare Division offers a variety of services including Mental Health, Addictions, Brain Injury and Rehabilitation and Recovery treatment plans.

Pay Rate: £12.60phr

Hours: Part Time 22.5 hours (3 days a week working). May include some weekends.

Due to a genuine occupational requirement, we are looking to recruit female workers for this particular role. Must also hold a Full UK Manual Driving Licence)

You will provide support with day to day activities, whilst encouraging and promoting independent living. Our teams provide care and support for individuals with different conditions at Priory sites all across the UK. 

It would be ideal if you have previous experience gained in a similar role. However whilst this is valuable, we are looking for individuals who display the right values and behaviours in order to make a difference to people’s lives. Responsibilities

  • Support our residents with in-house activities and hobbies
  • Providing support to achieve every day goals including personal care tasks, such as washing, dressing, eating and toileting
  • Manage some behaviours that challenge
  • Assistant and support to attend medical appointments (Must hold UK Driving Licence)
  • Observe, monitor and record physical and emotional well-being, and promptly report any changes to senior staff
  • Provide emotional support to individuals and their families
  • Support and monitor healthcare needs
  • Understand communication needs and adapt your communication to each individual
  • Work with other professionals, such as nurses and therapists, to ensure consistency of support

Qualifications and Skills

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a caring nature
  • Empathy, understanding and patience
  • Ability to work on your own and as part of a team
  • Ability to understand and follow policies and procedure
  • The ability to anticipate and respond to challenges
  • Competent in verbal and written English
  • A healthcare qualification is desirable, but not essential

Additional Information

Priory Beverley House, Edgbaston, Birmingham, is a high dependency rehabilitation unit for female patients with complex mental health needs, including schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. Some may also have a mild learning disability, alcohol and drug use, or a personality disorder.

Disclosure

All roles will be subject to a successful disclosure at an appropriate level from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS), Access NI or Disclosure Scotland, and the cost of this will be covered by Priory.
